First time to the track

Well i went to the track with the midwest guys back on April 9, but never had a chance to post my experience.

My First run ever, i got a 15.1x, i was all excited, hoping i would improve some time in the day and hit 14's. YEA RIGHT i went from 15.1x to 15.5x..to 15.5x..to 15.4x...to 15.3x.. to 15.6x... to 15.7x(mis shift) called it quits after that...

i have a 5spd 99 max, with y-pipe, hacked airbox, and UDP, thats it, my suspension should be in the next few weeks, do you think the tighter suspension will help with my launches? im hoping so, i was having a lot of traction problems... well that was my experience, hopefully i can do better next time.

Block your rear springs with rubber studs.

Traction and launching skill comes from experience at the drag strip. You will get better the more times you go. Suspension can help, but you will be better off with practice. Blocking rear springs with rubber studs for a beginner at the track is a joke. I hope you are kidding.

No I'm not kidding. Unless you have changed your struts to Illuminas or Coilovers, it's an alternative. That's what Jime did before going with Illuminas, and he's cutting 1.75 60 foot times, so no, I'm not kidding.
