Going to the track today, gotta couple of questions
right now ive got my 17s on, and they are a lot heavier than my 15 in sawblades. I was wondering, how should I should do this? 15's at all fours, 17s in front, 15s in rear, vice versa...The 17s have sticky W rated tires on, and the sawblades have all-season tires. I pulled my best time with the 15s, but also couldnt get much traction. Although it was horribly prepped that day. What do you guys think?
Well, i'd say you definitely want the sawblades in back. Even though its in the rear, its still mass you have to accelerate and spin up to speed (plus drag, rolling resistance too). For the fronts, tough call, but my vote is again sawblades. Can you bring a set of the 17s and a cable lock so you can try both?
Oh, i guess this is my first post, so hi everyone... I'm tom and i drive a 96 se 5spd, used to drive/mod neons.

yeah, ill be trying both. lighter is better, it gave me 1.5-2 mph better trap speeds than my 16" 5 spoke rims. Also gave me the better time. But with the 16s, I had 2.2 60', and with the sawblades, it was 2.3+ the whole day. I'll try em all out and see whats best. Thanks for the input
Ya i would go with the smaller size for sure. ive managed to get some damn good times on my old stock 16's with worn out all-seasons before lol.
Oh, btw Welcome Tomv. glad to have another maxima nut on the .Org
never be afraid to ask questions no matter how stupid (to a point) heh

Key is to read and search even if you don't have the search function there are ways to get the info you seek.
The 3.5L has good times with larger diamter wheels due to the extra tq. I've seen 3.5L with 19's run mid 14's in automatic form.
