1/4 mile timing for 2000 SE

i looked at the stickies for the 1/4 mile timings and it was def very usefull. But what i din't find is the different between 17" and 16" tires. I have a 2000 SE with 17 and my best run was 16.42, my car is completly stock and the numbers are higher then the stickies have them. is this due to me having 17".

No, it's due to the fact that your Maxima has some serious issues. Have your variable intake (vias) looked at.

ye i am, i bought the car not even realizing how much more fun it would be with a manual. but whatever i don't mind, i just wish i knew what i can do to make my tranny last longer and maybe shift better. the lag that is sometimes gives off isn't fun at all.

I have a 2000 5 speed SE bone stock on the 16s and i got a best of 15.32 with a G-Tech. I know they aren't the most accurate, but i assume you should be getting better times then that.

I'm sure someone can pull off a 14.9 with a stock 00 5-speed.

As much as I hate to say it, Russ (one of the most hated and one of the least intelligent people on this forum) went 14.8 in his stock 2000 or 2001 when he had a fluke pass.

dam 15.32? the timer can not be that much off. Dam no offesne but those 00-01s seem kind of slow, especially 5spd? Dam i was thinking of getting an 00 max se 5spd, but i dont want to get beaten by a 4th gen auto

5th gen chassis is harder to get going, but at least the GXE's have 15's. Damn heavy wheels.

Was he the only one? I know the DE-k has good power in stock form, if only they had stuck it in a 4th gen body (like the Mevi'd middle east maximas, 220 HP stock).

He's the only one I can think of. My buddy Jason went 15.0 way back then I think he was stock at the time too.

best I ever did was 15.1 @91ish with my 2000 auto, that's with a Y-pipe and intake. It had the heavy 17s on it too.....

I ran....

My auto ran a 14.8 @94MPH on stock 16s with stageII VB mod, Y-Pipe, full catback & intake. I had 2 runs in the low 15s but when my cousin drove it he got the 14.8 I guess the 60 pounds I weigh more then him had a effect. It was the only time I have ever run at the track.

It depends on tons of factors. It can be accurate or very inaccurate. The only way to know how fast your car truly is would be to get to a real track.

Even with the 5-speed I launch it like an auto (right off idle). I'd try that but I don't know if there's enough power to pull a good 60' launching like that in a 2k. If you had a 2k2 I'd say for sure though.

Just changed the tranny fluid and filter today, this does make a big difference in the tourqe you are putting out. I could not smoke my tires before for the life of me. When I changed it, the tourqe I was putting down left a trail a smoke from my potenzas.

It's funny launching on the street it's real easy. on the track, Ive found you have to smoke up alot on the track in order to get a half way decent launch.

Over the turkey weekend I went with my business partner To atco to race w/ my auto, made a sorry excuse for a qm time 16.992. Gotta wait now till may when the track opens back up. With all my my mods I should theoretically be able to do a high to mid 14 run now that my tourque is back. Big plans for my max this next year http://www.cardomain.com/ride/752140/3
