ram air for the track with turbo

Well I was wondering if I was to change my intake to the turbo and run it to the headlight area. Just remove the headlight and run a streight pipe with no filter to the turbo. Would I benifit from this? It goes down in the fender wall now. So I guessing it would just ram more air into the turbo. Could any one give me an idea of the power gain that it might would make. the only thing is my Maf meeter is in line with this pipe.

ram air is a myth, and always run with a filter. you should just put the filter in a place where it can the coldest, most dense air.

Ram air is not a myth. But this setup isn't considered ram air. Also, allowing your motor to breath easier is not a myth either.

Go ahead and relocate your filter so that it can breath easier. Removing your headlight is very easy and is worth the 3 minutes of work. You can even use the flexible tubing I used and it won't hurt since it's the non charged side.

This setup has proven very beneficial for me and all the bracket racing I've done. If you remove your filter like Jime did, it won't hurt. It definitely didn't hurt my times. I just didn't see any drop in my 1/4 mile times and I'm consistant within 2 or 3 hundredths of a second.
