My new rule is if your tire is called a drag radial by the general public or by the manufacturer or distributor, it's not a street tire. Driving ability and 60' times have nothing to do with my rule. Well actually this has always been my rule.

My friend tries to pull the whole "my drag radials ARE street tires" crap too, I give him sht endlessly for it haha.

Why are they only putting down 6.3" of contact. A 215 tire should be putting down 8.5" of contact. 6.3 is like a donut

According to Tirerack, the 215/60/15 size of the Avid T4 puts 6.3" to the ground. It varies greatly depending on specific tire type/brand.

I've had a 2.1 on Kuhmos of all tires, but couldn't get in third. But i'm also looking for a 12sec run this March.

I have practiced launching on the street in second gear but only after a few tries I gave up. Even my second gear is too tall to do this right and the engine bogs too much if you let the tires stop spinning.

Other than that I would launch in second gear (6000+)if I wanted to do a burnout.

And for the 'Honest to God' street tire runs I made a 13.5x @ (106?, 01/05) on the Toyo T1-Ss (NA).

And IIRC, my very first 13.3 (@110-111) run with the Nitrous (in 2002) was on the Blowtenzas.

Was this with the 4.13 final drive? On stock 17's? I assume the tire diameter was at least 26 inches, right?

Also, stock 32 lbs flywheel?

i went 12.9 @ 111 on pure street radials. managed a 2.09 60' on that run. Only sub-2.1 60' i have ever had.

as far as launching in 2nd, i have never tried it.

Tire measurement width isn't done on the tread, It's sidewall to sidewall when on a wheel. Take a t or s rated tire and a h rated tire of the same size and the h will almost always have about 1-1.5 more inches of tread width
