First time in my 5.5 gen 6 speed

I've been to the track before but never in a FWD car so this was a first for me. All of my runs were at Gainesville raceway in Gainesville, FL in the 95 degree summer heat with high humidity as it rained earlier in the afternoon. These were all done during the day and at night two episodes of pinks! were recorded that will air next season. For performance mods all I have is a frankencar intake with apexi filter and frankencar rear section (didn't notice any difference with the rear section). I am running on stock potenzas with 25 psi up front 14.791 @ 96.27 was my best run. I haven't been to the track in about 3 years so my reaction times were not so good with my best at .123 but most around .250 or so. My 60 ft. times were not the greatest either I was either spinning the tires too much or had a lot of wheel hop best was 2.376. I also took out my sub, amp and spare tire, but the bulk pack of dynamat extreme wouldn't come out . Most of my launches were done between 2k and 3.5k rpms but I think I was dropping the clutch too fast. Any pointers would be great especially on getting better 60' and reaction times I could be in the 14.50's if I had them down. Here are 3 of my slips from top to bottom it's my best e/t (best trap also), best 60 ft and best r/t (I am #16).

Yeah I do, any pointers? This guy with his wife and kid stopped me afterward and asked me if I had nitrous. I thought it was funny I raced an 00 mustang gt and beat him when they saw me.

You're 60ft needs to go down to the 2.2 area then you'll be pulling some bomb a$$ times....its kinda hard to coach someone on how to get the best times....it's more of a trial and error thing...try different RPMs and see where you get the best times

feathering the clutch is a must....dumping is not too smart for a car thats not properly tuned for dumping....it's good that u took out all that excess weight off your car....it's also nice to see that you dropped the front tire psi to 25....that will help with wheelspin...

the only advice i can give you....I launch around the 2.5k range...if i go into the 3k range, I'm smoking the **** out of my tires...I usually hold it at 2.5k and have the clutch partially out already (since my clutch grabs mid to high of the pedal)...I can't floor it in 1st gear....2nd gear has problems with WOT too....I'm usually 50% throttle in 1st....2nd gear I can go a little higher...if I go WOT in 2nd, I can feel the tires spinning but not to the point where I'm not moving forward....3rd gear I can punch it as hard as I want....this is all according to my AFCII

Steven what are you running? I'm getting a set of hot shots and most likely greddy emanage in the next two weeks. I hope to be in the low low 14's high 13's after that and some more practice. Oh and I am an running with an open diff so that couldn't be helping me much

I'm running an open diff too...alot of 6spd owners say the locking diff doesn't even help much with straight line acceleration...its only through the twisties

I ran one 14.1@101mph before..thats with a 2.34 60ft...i'm sure with a high 2.2, i'm easily into the 13s...I gained quite a bit of torque through my AFCII tuning as well...I'm sure that will help out my time somewhat too..

From the looks of the timeslips, it seems as though no one was getting any good traction?

krismax brings up a good point...I totally missed the first sentence on the 95 degrees and high humidity...i heard high humidity and high temperature can kill times very quickly..

Yeah that is why I can't really complain much about 14.7's. I wanted to race in the winter but just got tied up with school. As far as the 60' times I actually ran 14 times total and the best opponent had a 1.8xx 60' it was a supercharged mustang with slicks. It felt good beating that mustang gt, a different car he did a big burnout what a douche. Do you guys have any pointers on getting a better reaction time? Also where do you shift at an how do you shift? I looked at stevtec's excel data (which is sweet btw) and said to shift before redline on the 2-3 and 3-4 shifts and I actually shifted barely before the rev limiter on every shift. I was just shifting as quickly as possible i.e. lifting up on the accelerator entirely not powershifting. Does anyone powershift anymore? Double clutch on a FWD? I've also heard that our factory ecu cuts the throttle to less than wide open a little before rev limiter even if you are mashing the pedal. I read that somewhere about the technosquare ecu and how it eliminates that. I've noticed sometimes my car bogs at high rpm, is this the vias not kicking in? MAF on it's way out? OK this has gotten really long. Thanks
