NEW PB with 3.5!!!

hey guys, i decided to take the car out to the track. These are my timeslips:

My last one was my best:

R/T: .371
60': 2.499
330: 6.777
1/8: 10.506
MPH: 60.52
1000: 14.378
1/4: 18.405
MPH: 49.17

*perhaps i should explain myself further. My last run was my first time on the left side of the track. Apparently they coated the left side with enough water to hose down Shamu. My rpm's shot up from 0-6500 in about a second. 1st and second were nonexistant, and i missed the 3rd gear shift. In fact, all 3 runs tonight were done with MISSING 3rd gear, and having little to no traction in 1st and second. I suspect it's the shifter bushing. Driver error is a factor, but I'd never miss a gear 3 times in a row due to error.

here's my first run:

R/T: .109
60': 2.017 <- best 60' time
330: 5.997
1/8: 9.655
MPH: 67.28
1000: 12.675
1/4: 15.124
MPH: 91.24

Again, missing 3rd gear:

R/T: -.031
60': 2.275
330: 6.211
1/8: 9.741
MPH: 68.78
1000: 12.711
1/4: 15.137
MPH: 93.01

This car is a definite 13 second car, i just didn't nail the 3rd gear and had trouble with the massive amount of wheel hop i was getting in 1st and second. I'm pretty surprised how i got the 2.0 60' with my street tires though. a hundredth of a second faster and i wouldve been in 1.9's territory.

Now I know what to fix before Nissan Day.

after the horrible launch and missed gear, i pressed the brake and coasted.

i was either gonna get a great time, or a horrible time. I chose the latter.

Jime runs low 14's @60-70 mph when he does that as does DandyMax... IIRC.

Anyhow, I know you know and everyone else does, but IBsomeonesayspractice...

both of them are tuned, and jime doesnt miss gears. Practice is one thing, but i'm positive my shifter bushing is too far forward. I've been to the track before, and never missed third gear. This was, of course, with the 3.0L.

nice. These runs were garbage though. I'll make sure it doesnt happen again.

My car weighs 2862 without driver, which isnt that bad considering i have full power/heated leather interior.

I still need to do little things like move the battery to the trunk, get a lightweight battery, and exchange bumper supports with my 95. (lightweight)

I think I'm having the same problem with the shifter bushing. I'm going to try some duct tape or zip ties or something before I go back to the track tomorrow. My best run was 15.4 @92mph last night.
