Much better times

I went to the track last week and was having some problems, heres my thread on it if intrested : http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=521708

The best I could do last week was a 14.7 @ 94 , but I ended up finding out the vias wasnt opening at all.

Over the week I fixed the vias (bad o-ring), replaced the knock sensor, took the butterflys out of the lower mainfold and gave it a quick port while off.

Went back to the track yesterday My best run was:

R/T - .881
60' - 2.135
330 - 5.961
1/8 - 9.124
MPH - 78.00
1000 - 11.856
1/4 - 14.150
MPH - 97.40

Another good run was:

R/T - .459
60' - 2.131
330 - 5.949
1/8 - 9.122
MPH - 77.68
1000 - 11.866
1/4 - 14.174
MPH - 96.77

Im still on the stock cat back which I think is really starting to hurt now. I also am having a hard time street tuning the car, some datalogging would help me out alot, my A/F ratio is far from a even line lol. Hopefully after I install the headers and make the cat back I can hit up a dyno and get some better tuning.

lol yeah the car felt real on and off with its performance and when I tested it with my multimeter it wasnt reading right so I figured to replace it.

Thanks bout the times, I was really really hoping for a 13, even if it was 13.9999999 but traction and tuning werent being my friends. I finally started slipping the clutch out instead of launching it and thats when I got my best runs.

Those are great 60' times for street tires. Nice work.

thanks guys

the wheels are : 16" enkei RS-5's with 225/55 potenza's RE90's (aired down to 22 PSI for track) and IIRC the rims are 16.5 lbs each

I do a quick burnout in the box and was slipping the clutch out at around 4000 ish rpm...if I dumped it I just kept on spinning thru 1st and I tended to shift early and it was giving me like 14.5 to 14.3's.

Id love to pick up some radials or slicks...what kind of 60" are you guys getting with radials or slicks ?

read my sig for 60 fts...

(or if you can't see it I typically pull 1.75x, 1.76x, maybe the odd 1.77x on 24.5" M&H slicks). I'm not usually higher than 1.7's now.

In order to be that consistant though, the two step is necessary, because it enables you to launch at EXACTLY the same RPM every run.

The auto guys often go on about how a stick car will never be as consistant as an auto, but a manual launching at say, 5467.78 RPM every single run with a fairly consistant driver for the shifts, will give an auto a run for its money in consistancy.
