VE back at the track with DRs

I went to the track yesterday with my new DRs that i got for my birthday which was last weekend. The DRs make such a difference, no wheel hop or burnouts in first... amazing...

This was my setup: VE30DE, 50 shot of nitrous, HAI, ypipe, removed A/c belt, DRs @ 16psi. The temp ranged from 70-85*F and i only had 6lbs. of nitrous to start with in my 10lb bottle.

Best run on N2O(1/2 full)
RT: .474
60': 1.973
330: ????
1/8: 8.993
MPH: 76.96
1000: 11.741
1/4: 14.095
MPH: 95.72

Best run off N2O
RT: .157
60': 2.119
330: ????
1/8: 9.566
MPH: 72.27
1000: 12.487
1/4: 14.953
MPH: 91.30

My average on the bottle is about 14.3-14.4 but i hope to get that down soon.

Cheers,
Alex

I have a crawford plenum (cast) sitting in the garage. You wouldn't believe how cheap I got it for. (mispelling crawford on ebay and making the starting bid like $10 w/ no reserve is NOT a good idea lol)
I have the Hotchis bars on already, Stillen airbox and have shocks/springs ready to go. Just no time.

nice run, really nice 60ft, I know it was killing you to almost break 13's

have you change anything else since your last time at the track or do the DR's get all the credit

Nice time on nitrous. With some tweeking, you should be in the 13s.

Your n/a time is still slow for the mods you have, especially with DRs and a 2.11 60-foot time. I would think you should be more like 14.6ish.

I have hit 14.85 @ 93 twice (on different days) with street tires. Maybe you need to get a Fidanza. hehe

The tweaking is getting a full bottle and bottle heater...

n/a might be slow because me ypipe is not exactly connected to my cat(about 1/4" off), the previous owner got the exhaust redone and the cat back section was shorter than stock. So i might be loosing torque in the low end, Im not sure.

Cliff you goin on the drive on sun?

just the DR's and i took the floor mats out but that is it... so DRs gave me about .2 sec on the bottle and .3 off, ME HAPPY!

Nice times!

I know that I live in NM, but I will be moving back to NE Tacoma in 6 months to 1 year. I currently have a VE-5 (Jeffy's old Maxima) with all of the bolt-on's and a 75 shot of N2O. I have all of the stuff for a dual stage 150 shot, but I haven't had time to install it. I'm also in the process of prepping a new motor for my car. I bought it from SouthStar019, who bought it from MaDMaX024. It's a rebuilt VE with 11k miles on it. It has 300zx NA pistons and it made 195 rwhp with a factory exhaust and a factory ecu.

I can't wait to come back to the NW. Maybe we can meet up when I do...

You should do quite a bit better with a bottle heater.

FYI, it's a good idea to put the bottle in the freezer for about 30 minutes before you have it filled.

Some places put your bottle in a freezer before they fill it and some places don't. Basically, it's best to get your bottle to be as cold as possible and they should keep the filling tank pretty warm. Your bottle will accept more liquid nitrous when it's cold.

Hmm I assumed you were auto from your trap speeds. They seem a bit on the low side for a 5spd. Still you launched great on that 1.97 60' run.

Nope, he included the touring wheels. The track wheels were stolen before I bought the car.
