Which track did you run at?

P.S. Are you the insurance guy? If so, I am the guy with the A4.

Congrats on breaking into the 12s

nices times, did you get the 12sec pass recorded so many maxima's are starting to run 12's that it makes a high 13's pass seem normal

whats the schedule for the track when do they close for the winter I want to get a pass in this year with my new mods

Thanks for the props, but 12's and 13's are not the norm for a 6thGen Max all the 6thGen's I know of are running 14's & 15's. I'm the only 12 second one that has time slips posted.

How much of a difference did the Kinetix intake make? 12s is damn good for bolt-ons, ECU, stickier tires and a 75 shot.

I notice you have a transmission cooler listed as a future mod, so I take it you have an automatic then? Any thoughts on more stall speed and valve body mods? If you are going to eventually run slicks, more stall would help a lot.

I meant 13's are becoming the norm for modded maxima's

so how does it feel to be the 1st into the 12's any plans to up the nitrous and search for 11's

Thanks! It feels great to be the first 6th Gen. to hit 12's I'm aiming for a goal next season of low 12's high 11's. I will probably up my shot to 100 but with a dual stage system the 75 shot out the hole is a beast it is hard to hook consistantly. I'll probably run a 35-55 shot on stage 1 and a 100 shot on stage 2. With the proper wheel and suspension set up I should be hitting 1.7 & 1.8 60's all day long.

I have a automatic I may consider the high stall and a valve body. I definately want to run slicks but sizing is a problem unlike the earlier gen maxs that can run 15" wheels I can only run as low as 17" wheels the brake calipers wont clear 16" wheels. Unless you know something I dont? The Kinetix intake without the juice lowered my E.T. 1.5tenths of a second and with the juice 4tenths of a second netting and additional 22WHP and 40FT.LBS of torque on the juice.

Yeah if you meant 13's are becoming more common then ok, but I wouldn't say 12's are common. There's only a few Maximas in the 12's or better, and most of them are boosted or spraying. The number of N/A 12 second Maximas you can count on one hand.

Nice job. I'm coming for you though. Watch out!

For my VE Auto with 22" MT slicks, I found the 50 shot works best to gain consistant traction. The 75 shot can sometimes hook decently, but it's really tough.

I have a 3K stall TC and a VB mod. Spraying nitrous with slicks and a high stall torque converter really lays down a LOT of instant torque off the line. If I had a lower stall, I might could get away with the 75 shot launch.

But, a 35 shot for you out of the hole and you may be able to kick in the 2nd stage (75 shot) before 1st gear is over.

For me, I'm going to mess around with the Dynotune Progressive Controller and see how I like it. I will test it out with the 100 shot first and launch on 50%, then ramp it up quickly after that. I'll probably have full power within 1 second. Once I get everything working, then I'll up the nitrous.

Thanks! I planning on the dual stage setup next season with a 35-55 shot for the first stage out the hole and a 100 shot for the second stage as well as some other mods I hoping for low 12's or high 11's next season.

Yeah! Now that's what I'm talking about 11's! Let's do it without breaking anything. That's gonna to be the hard part.

Yeah. I don't mind breaking minor stuff. I'm only concerned with breaking my tranny or motor. I have original motor and original auto tranny with 195K miles on them. My goal is to see 11s without blowing anything up. All I can do is tune my car as safely as possible and see what happens.

Thanks! What kind of times are expecting to hit? Are you N/A? I see your N/A on your reply that's some sweet times for N/A. Are you considering turbo or nitrous?

no turbo or nitrous, will just stick with n/a. Im still shooting for a 13.4 to tie nealocs old record set years ago in a 4th gen he had thats sense passed away. about the only thing ive done for this race was to remove the rear spoiler -4 lbs.

How do you like the look of that Chris? I think my car would look funny without the spoiler on there, I don't plan on removing it..

Will be looking forward to seeing your results from this weekend, go knock down that 13.4!! Now that winter's here I'm in withdrawal... Oh well, at least I'm busy with the 3.5 plans now..

PS you still need to get some slicks (M&H I suggest) if you really want to see what your car can do...

M&Hs I agree. Drag radials are a nice step up from street tires but they really don't compare to the slingshot feeling that slicks give you.

A lot of people are now turning to M&Hs from MTs. Is the traction difference really that noticeable between the two of similiar sizes?

M&Hs will definitely be my next brand.

Call H&R and have a spacer made for you.
I have seen people do this. They can make you a 1 inch spacer, if that will do it for you.

I spoke to a guy at MandHtires.com, and they're really nice people. They explain to you exactly why they would like to give you a certain tire.

Do the they give deals to the .org?

1Sexyleo thanks for the props! I would have say you would be the first N/A Automatic in the low 13's w/ a 5.5gen. Your car is impressive already and you still haven't fully modded your car. It's not about HP all the time to get better ET's. Proper tire setup, weight of rims etc. can knock 2-4tenths of a second in the 1/4 mile. My best 60' is 1.87 when I ran a 12.86 and a 1.90 w/ a 12.92ET. I have mad respect for car and driving ability seeing you run a 13.9 at Capital Raceway was most impressive. Why do you think I would never run you N/A at the track you would have smashed me. I'm 14.3 N/A Dont tell anyone
By the way according to dragtimes you would be the first one (female or male) to hit low 13's in an automatic here's the link.

1sexyleo: awesome to see you out running some good times!

kevin007 is right, being fast is not just engine power. Lots more to it than that.

Stall and slicks/drag radials. You want to march out of the hole, that'll do it.

Damn, I am trapping at 110 and can't seem to get a 12 Hopefully next time out I'll be in the elusive 12's. I am in desperate need of some slicks.

What's your 60 foot?

With a 1.9, you should be close to 12s! Yes, you are in need of slicks.
