Tracked the 6th Gen for the first time...
so this past tuesday i took my 06 max to the track for the first time, was a last minute decision but glad i went i had a lot of fun. So i made about 20 passes and my best two times were in the 14.7's. All i have done to the car is CAI, Greddy SP2, coilovers and strut bars. I didnt gut anything out of the car being it was a last minute thing, so i made the runs with the back seat in, the spare and not to mention an 80lb tool box in the trunk... I made all my best times while in automatic mode vs tiptronic...anyone else that tracked theirs notice that? anyways, im going to the track again next week in gainsville FL, this time im going to gut out all the dead weight and hopefully that helps a little...So here are my best two slips...i mostly launched between 1500-2000rpm, i foot braked and rev'd then released the brake on the light, if anyone has any advice to help with launching and times any input is appreciated. The tires were at 25 psi and they hooked pretty good i never really got any spin..

Congrats on making it to the track. How did you get 20 runs in?? We go from like 4:30 to 8:30 up here in Denver and I never get more that 6 runs. And yes the car is faster if you just leave it in automatic. Triptronic slows it down a just a little.
All the extra weight isn't helping, remove spare tire and jack, tool and sub boxes and all the floor mats. That's how I run, I don't take anything else out (seats etc). I have yet to go to the track this year, every time something interferes. Hopefully soon though because it's always a good time.

Very constant times and trap speeds. Work on the reaction time and you can clean up running brackets. The downside is having to let off if you have a big lead so you don't break and end up losing.
If your main concern is better ETs then work on getting your 60' time down. Personally, when running a street car, I'd leave all the seats in the car but remove everything from the trunk. Just not worth the extra .10th or so gutting the interior.

IMHO you'd get better results by running a smaller lighter slick. As your car sits it has 14.2-14.4s in it at the same trap speed. Your 60' is average for a FWD on stock tires, a couple of 1.9x 60's would have you running 14.2-14.4s.

Just to compare, I just came back from the track tonight. Also first time on the track with the 6th gen. My best was a 14.807, Other runs were a bunch of 14.9s. It was in the upper 90s here at Infineon with about a 15-20mph headwind. my best run was at 90degrees exactly. Humididty i think was in the 30%
As for the car, It's pretty much bone stock. I took out the air filter, decreases front tire pressure to 25psi(Dunlop Direzza Z1), took out mats and spare tire and 1/4 tank of 91 octane. did a little burnout just to clean the tires off(helps). Break torque to 1500-2000rpm, then half way throttle till it hooked, then full throttle, all the way down in D not Sportronic
(sorry no scanner)
R/T: 0.191
60': 2.270
330': 6.249
1/8: 9.537 @ 74.17mph
1000': 12.395
1/4: 14.807 @ 93.49mph
Is there any kind of conversion that would let me know what the car would've run if the weather was around 75 degrees?

we'll since this thread has kinda died off I can ask this. I also saw another 5th gen there with a 3.5 that was all gutted inside, exhaust, and intake from what I can see running low 14s. i've seen it once before at infineon when I went to watch and it was going high 13s. wonderin if they're here on the org since I didn't get a chance to talk to em there.
