If I dont get a 60 below 2.0 I will inflict pain upon myself.
I run 30psi in my street tires.

What kind of drag radials are those?

Maxxed out, yes all runs are with my current mod list.

713, Its on my youtube.

Schmelly, in the 600s from what I was told, I'd have to look it up.

Krazy6,

Damn? Really? I wanted to drop the psi in them but I figured I would play around the clutch some more and launch @ 3500 but there were some other things that didn't appreciate me launching so hard.

Kumho ecsta v710s, they were cheaper than buying regular tires lol.

I'm going back in about 2wks, then it will be all serious bizness, no hot lapping, and more accurate data collection (eg. Where did I shift, how did I launch? How hard was the shift, tire psi, etc. I hope to lower these times quite a bit next time.

Yeah, going much lower than that doesn't really help on street tires. On slicks or drag radials it's a different story.

I ran my ET Streets at 10-12psi.

Just so you know, those tires that you bought have a stiff sidewall which isn't what you want for launching a front wheel drive manual car. They will grip better than what you had though.

Good luck man!

Thanks for the pointers! That's good to know.

I thought so! when I was researching them I found a lot of positive reviews for autocrossing, so I assumed that these tires had a stiffy . As you know already I will be doing a lot more things then the 1/4 on these tires (Gymkhana, Road Course, etc.), so I wanted a stiffer sidewall, since drag racing is something that I don't do too much throughout the year.

No problem.

Yeah, I figured you were gonna use them for more than just drag racing. Those tires will work nicely for autocross!

Oh, yah since DA's adjustments are everything here, THAT MEANS I PROLLY RAN LIKE HIGH 13S AMIRITE?

All seriousness, there was a run or two when I had a KCIR flashback of me heading towards the wall on a 1->2 shift, that track did have patches of stickyness/slipperyness, also it was getting rough in the last 1/8th, dunno if it was wind or just uneven surfaces.

I hooked better in the left lane, it was stickier than the street for me, i did a launch that would've made me spin on the street and I bogged as you saw in the video.

60ft 2.31

1/8th 9.55 @74.6
1000ft 12.39
1/4 mile ET 14.79 @ 94.14

I managed to get another 14.79 with a 2.29 60ft somewhere, I just can't find the slip, but I have the video.

Tires were @ 30 psi the whole night, didn't feel like dropping the pressure, just busy having fun racing Max_Dreamer's rental

I really feel like there's more in this car, just need to get more seat time with the 6spd, I can't quite do 2nd->3rd like I used to.

Vids soon, I'll re-edit this post and bump the thread whenever the finish uploading.
There is more in the car... if u lowered the tire pressure u would've gotten those times

First time out with drag radials, I reaaallly need to fix my parking brake, the last time I got the tires sort of heated up and that's when they yanked my car to a 2.21 60 ft... Too bad it yanked my heater hose loose and I lost all of my coolant on the track and it killed the top end of the car around the 1/8th.

Anyways Videos Below:

Run 1 Details:
30 PSI, 4k quick clutch slip out

Run 2: 30 PSI, 6k quick clutch let out

Go Pro of Run 2:

Run 3: 25 PSI, somewhat of a burnout + 5k quick clutch let out + some fancy footwork in first gear (didn't smash the throttle to the floor like the other runs)

2.21 60ft / 9.5 1/8th @ 74 14.81 @ 92 << The only decent time of the day.

All runs trapped around 92, there's always something going wrong preventing the car from running better, this just tells me I need to take my time and go over the long list of things I've been ignoring over the last two years cause they all come back to bite me some time..... EG, the heater hose giving way.

So, most of this being driver error, I will probably come back hard some time in June/July to get some practice in before Maxus.

On a brighter note a Prelude Type SH with some cheesy bolt ons was running 16.0s, that made me feel good atleast.....

I havent ran with drag radials yet, but I would think they would get you a 2.0 or low 2.1. What was your best 60ft on street tires?

I have found that when I switched to some lighter wheels than my stock 17" TE wheels I pulled low 2.2 60 foot times... I am gonna try some DR's soon though was well..

And lower that tire pressure, I usually run close to 20 psi...

2.29 is my best on street tires.

These rims are light as ****, that's why I run them @ the track and have my DR's mounted to them. Under 40lbs a wheel with tire+wheel+air.

And various sources tell me to not run DRs (especially mine) that low of a PSI, because they are not designed to wrinkle like slicks are.

I think my 60ft improved because that was the best burnout I could muster, I need to hurry up and do all of my brakes so my parking brake will work again, I'm replacing the rear calipers because it only locks up one tire really well and the other... not so well.
