False start!!
So last Friday I got to the drag strip at 9PM, which was kinda late. As soon as I got there, a Mustang spilled synthetic oil all over the runway. Waited until about 11 without a single run. Then, they closed it down for the evening. It was a rough night...
We'll see at happens in two weeks.
EDIT: Really wanted to try out my new DRs too.

That sucks.. But what is worse is being one of the first cars to run after they clean the track. Almost afraid to get on it all the way in case they missed something. I can't wait to see your times..

good luck on times!!!

Do you have a WOT box to hold boost between shifts? That will pick you up .5-1 second on a turbo car depending on how long you'd normally wait for boost in the next gear.
I'm going to bet on 12s the first time at the track with your new setup. You're going to spend a good deal of time figuring out how you want to launch. A 2-step (comes with a wot box) will also help you a lot with launching, it sure has me.

i hope you dont have any cats. I would assume you dont being turbo and all, but with the ignition cut, fuel keeps flowing and if you have cats it accumulates on the cell, then when ignition comes back, fire hits the cat and the cat goes boom
ignition cut + cats = thousands of pieces of cat coming out the tailpipe

YES!! that was a huge pain. I probably probed 15 wires in the search for the right one, not to mention the ridiculous amount of electrical tape that covers those wires

Here are my times:
1st run,
R/T... .502
60'... 2.363
1/8... 9.454
1000... 12.094
ET... 14.288
MPH... 101.49
2nd run
R/T... .465
60'... 2.384
1/8... 9.436
1000... 12.061
ET... 14.279
MPH... 98.95
3rd run,
R/T... .602
60'... 2.273
1/8... 9.053
1000... 11.627
ET... 13.844
MPH... 101.74
So....I need to learn how to launch better. My R/T & 60' are horrible.
I will say one thing though. The DRs are freaking great!! Did not spin out once.
Conditions also didn't help. It was kind of brisk and the 2200' elevation never helps.
Man, I wish I could rent the track for a few hours. I definitely need to practice putting all that power on the ground smoother as I take off. I liked the fact that my times were somewhat consistently. Got better towards the end. 13s are an ok start I guess.
I will be back in two weeks.
Oh, and I do not like the unsprung clutch either. Way too much chatter for my taste. Next one is definitely going to be sprung.

Get those 60 foot times down and you will be closer to mid 13's.. Learning to launch is always fun.. Good luck.

is something wrong with the car? a car making 380+whp should be trapping way higher than 101mph. IIRC sparks highest trap was 107, and he has 100 less HP..
as gemner said elevation, and if so, there should be a correction factor..

One he wasn't launching hard enough on the DRs. You gotta shock those things and floor it man! You can certainly pull 1.8-1.9 '60 foots on them with practice.
For the trap, I imagine he will gain a lot of MPH when he can hold boost through gears and launch harder. I also bet he could use some practice on power shifting too, to go with the WOT box if he gets one.
Turbo cars aren't affected quite as much by DA as N/A cars because they will make a specified amount of boost regardless of conditions as long as the turbo isn't out of efficiency when it has to spin faster in the heat. Regardless, they are still affected and I'm sure it had an effect on his trap speed.
If it was chilly, that was good rrodriguez, that means a lower DA albeit harder to launch. The sun is the main factor for the track being sticky, though. Sunny day, even in the cold + good track prep = win.
Practice and some new tricks and I'm sure you'll be deep in the 12s!

IMO it's a combination of things.

What turbos aren't less efficient when it hotter outside?

I disagree. He hotter it is outside, the hotter and stickier the track gets.
