Even with slow shifting i would think it would trap more than 101mph.
You have 3 tenths in the 1/8th till you catch my intake/exhaust 6th gen lol.

Just goes to show that power isn't everything. Practice makes perfect. Good luck with the car man.

You would be surprised on a F/I vehicle. You have to realize it is NOT almost 400 whp until it makes boost. A slowish shift followed by getting back into the gas = spool time ftl

On the other hand, 380 N/A whp or nitrous whp is instant and very different. You can shift slowish and still do great. The F/I car needs to maintain boost between gears to do well.

My buddy's turbo cobalt traps 111-113 with no lift shifting (maintains boost), and only 105-106 with FAST lift shifts.

I so want a WOT BOX now after watching some videos. The launch support looks so cool. Would really help cut my N/A times big time just with that. PM'd you sparks.

Well said. This is a huge factor that alot of people I know don't realize or understand.

You should go to pacific raceways with me on the 17th and 18th, if it's not raining.

It's going to rain. I'm planning to head to the track in Mid-May. We should definitely meet up and head out. Sure it wont be fair with you on nitrous and me N/A

Saturday has possible rain showers, but sunday looks fairly decent.

I'm down to meet up and go to the track whenever you want. I'm going to try to go to the track for every single tnt this season. lol.

Guess I just expected that powershifting was the norm lol.
Doesn't everyone?

It's not so simple with F/I or nitrous. Electronic help is a huge boon.

So....I need to learn how to launch better. My R/T & 60' are horrible.
I will say one thing though. The DRs are freaking great!! Did not spin out once.
Conditions also didn't help. It was kind of brisk and the 2200' elevation never helps.
Man, I wish I could rent the track for a few hours. I definitely need to practice putting all that power on the ground smoother as I take off. I liked the fact that my times were somewhat consistently. Got better towards the end. 13s are an ok start I guess.

I will be back in two weeks.

Oh, and I do not like the unsprung clutch either. Way too much chatter for my taste. Next one is definitely going to be sprung.
You could run a 13.5 sec/1/4 mi if you get those R.T. and 60 ft times down.....good run though; The NHRA was here today, so I'll have to wait till next weekend to find out my times...

R/T does not matter towards the ET. R/T is only important in bracket racing or heads up racing where you are worried about the win light. When i am going for PB runs, I sometimes sit at the light for a full second of reaction time just to get the perfect launch.

Launch and shifting... get those down and get a good density altitude, and you have a good time.

I could shift the hell out of my nitrous camaro. Didn't have a problem with it. Made 478whp and 534wtq.

Well you were either letting off your WOT switch, had your window switch set just before your shift point, or you are just horribly stupid and lucky Either of the first 2 options are electronic help that lets you shift much faster and without worry of mis-shifts.

This is correct r/t has nothing to do with your et times, but its always nice to have a nice r/t on your time slip lol

With practice, I will shave off a couple of seconds off those times.

It took me 3 times at the track to get out of the 13s and into the 12s. But the 101 mph man, like sparks is saying. Your laking at the start, those tires should be just barely breaking loose off the line. When I read that your tires were great. I was like "not enough rpm", cause I fry me drs all of first and most of second. But I always come around at the end and I trap 116 mph. Even if I peddle first and smash second it still fries the tires. Hey I`m learning too. lol

And Sparks what your saying is true about the FI cars. But unless he is really shifting slowly the car stays in its boost range nicely. There is not any lag from like say second to third or even into fourth when redline the gear previous.

wow...

Look, I know there is a lot that goes into running a good time and trapping well but the bottom line is you out trapped my stock 5.5 gen by less than 2 mph and you make jjust under 180 whp more than I do...lifting to shift and not launching hard enough only can make up some of that..

Good luck next time with getting some better times though!

Well I can tell you for sure that it will either be bad, good, or somewhere inbetween. This is assured based on my previous experience.

those sawblades are 15's right? How much do they weight? I picked up a set of j30 15's that fit the 5.5 fronts and they only weigh around 14lbs

They're somewhere in the 14-15lb region, and yes 15s.

And you say they fit the 5.5 gen, huh? Let's see some pictures, I especially want to see pictures of 15s on your car with your calipers not shaved.

Not the sexiest wheels on the planet, but they fit. I can get you more pics if you want, not sure I can even get you a picture of the caliper clearance, its pretty close, but I can try

BTW: it looks kinda strange in this picture, but its because the car was in the air a little. I was test fitting the wheels while breaking loose my axle nuts. Clutch job FTL
