Ran 13.3 in my intake/exhaust 6th gen!!!
The new tires helped a ton! Going from street tires to the ET streets took off 7 tenths off my ET. MPH increased a little bit too, this wheel/tire combo is sooooo much lighter than the stock 18s.
Mods are:
fujita intake
3" single exhaust from the manifolds back
NWP block off plate
NWP phenolic spacers
26x11.5-16 Mickey thompson ET streets (took a decent amount of grinding to fit the 16" wheels)
Take into account this is on the STOCK exhaust manifolds and precats. Also the car is not tuned with anything.
I was launching around 5000rpm with 15 psi in the tires for the first two passes. Then I lowered the tire pressure to 12psi and launched right at redline. (6500rpm)
This got me a 1.8 60'.
I never completely dumped the clutch. I did a really fast slip to avoid breaking any parts.
DA was right around 1800DA +/- 50DA
Here are the timeslips
60 FT_____2.0019
330 FT____5.6189
1/8 ET____8.6591
1/8 MPH___82.36

Let me know what you guys think!

im not too familiar w the new gens like others, but wow, very impressive , almost want a pic of the trunk to make sure theres no bottle back there lol jk (;
thats quick +1 on the lsd question... im considering getting one but if you can pull 60 fts like yours without it it may not be worth it

I'm thinking about the ebay headers. We'll see.
If I had a little more power the car would definitely go 12s.
You have to get to the track. I love watching your car run!
Everyone at the track that comes up to ask me about the car asks how much I am spraying.
Thanks!
I run the 1/4 mile because it is pretty close to me now. Before, I only had an 1/8 that was close. I like both because I love racing!
Thanks man!
Appreciate all the help you've given me.

I don't think 3.0 headers fit in the 6th gen chassis. I am pretty sure they interfere with the subframe or something like that.
I just don't have enough money for headers. I know the headers are cheap, but then I would want to tune it at that point as well. An uprev tune would cost me another $550.
Anyone wanna donate some money to the 12 second n/a 6th gen fund?

6th gen headers are different than 4th gen headers. the engine cradle is totally different.
I have some 6th gen headers if you're interested (really cheap). i bought them for my 4th gen, before i realized that the 6th gen engine cradle was totally different than the 4th gen crossmember setup and they've just been sitting in a box in the garage for like a year and a half now.

There is a guy on 350z that started a project and ran out of money and the people on the site started sending him money to finish.
I have ever though about getting sponsered, should be really easy out there.
If you were closer I could make you some test pipes to replace the cats

Those test pipes would help for sure. I'm decently far away though. lol

Good times yo. And to think I had discounted 6thgens to be slow. Me like!
Let this be a lesson to folks. Tires mean everything. Dont know how people think they can buy all the mods in the world, then run on some stock street tires. ANd wonder why they are slow.

In California I used to race on the street all the time. Every Friday and Saturday. I just moved to Kansas and there is definitely less of a scene out here.

These times were run at Kansas International Dragstrip (KID). I'm about 50 miles from this track. So it's not a bad drive.
I don't think I'll travel up to topeka or kansas city, unless there is a big event or something. KID seems pretty good to me. They also didn't make me wear a helmet.

KCIR has three to four track events per week - Wed. and Friday night "test-n-tune" but Friday is more like Street Wars.

Luck with your car. Edit: just read your strips - seriously good 60' times! And that exhaust is good work. From your photo, it looks like you were parked north of the concession stand. Can you believe they widened the return road?

That's a decent track - they have new owners and have fixed it up a bit. Wichita has a pretty good import presence.... watch out for the sand burrs, though. Topeka, KC and Tulsa have hosted PINKS events - very cool to watch. I've been to three. I got to see Rich crash his bike at Heartland Park. Wow... The 2010 Topeka Pinks All-Out show will be broadcast on Oct.28th on the Speed channel, if you're curious.

I would like to go to a pinks all out event, that would be cool.
Sounds like KCIR is the place to be. Are they strict on helmets, because I don't have one? lol
Thanks man. I was pretty excited with a 1.8 60'
My exhaust guy did a good job on it. There are no crush bends in it.
The return road seems normal to me now. I guess it must have been just enough to fit one car before. lol

Seems like KID hooks pretty good. My car doesn't make much power though. lol
