Nice 60ft and ET! Maybe the calibration was off with the track equipment. The trap speed just doesn't make sense. You only gained 18MPH from the 1/8th to the 1/4 mile.

E/T is good but as everyone else says, the trap speed is low... Maybe the Cvvt has something to do with it..

Must be due to the torquey nature of the VQ engine. I gained 21MPH from the 1/8th to the 1/4 mile.

not a bad launch

but the times aboutt right for it

Interesting. I wonder what I would run if I had such a good launch. I gain about 21mph from the 1/8 to the 1/4 mile mark.

Trap is low because it's a CVT. Not sure if it's the same for all CVTs or not but in the newer Maximas they just don't pull for crap after 80mph or so. I'm also amazed you got such a good 60 foot time with it.

There's a lot of possibilities, but honestly without a weight for your car and a dyno graph with similar weather conditions as to when you ran, its hard to start pinpointing why you're not trapping as well.

I'm still wondering how a CVT is dyno'd consistently.

AFAIK, I was the first person on here to run an '07 Max. I got the car back in 06 and ran it after I put 1k miles on it. I wasn't happy when the best time I could get was only a 15.2 the first time out. After a few trips to the track, I tried different methods of launching, and shifting , to get the times down. I achieved my fastest times by using this method. Launch with the car in drive, once the car gets up to around 70 mph, shift it over to the manual mode. Do not shift it manually! Let the car shift by itself in the manual mode. Using this method, I was able to pick up 2 mph...consistently, and my times dropped down to 14.5s. I posted my findings here a few years ago, and others who have tried it, found that it worked for them also. The car was and still is stock.
