Was track prep on the tire spin... Have pulled bottom 1.8 60 foots on these DRs before when the track is sticky.

Yeah it's just a joke to us, but they actually believe that we are saying the track is the only reason for their times.

Can't wait to see your car running 11s on motor.

Your not to far off with a little more power and a good 60ft.

Really seems possible with enough weight reduction, cams (hoping they gain a lot of area under the curve with the new rev limiter), suspension tie downs to stop the weight transfer, some ghetto tape aero, and a 1.7ish 60'. Even full weight judging off these runs, assuming every tenth of 60' is around 2 tenths in the 1/4, It could have done a 12.2-12.3 on a low 1.7. Neither here nor there and bench racing blah blah etc... but speculation and theory has gotten me this far.

12.68 at 108.41 - very nice, almost matches my numbers! Good to see some people still getting serious 1/4 mile times.

And good on you for trying to improve the manifold also. The 00VI is ok for a DEK but the VQ35 manifolds leave a lot of room for improvement. For about 3-4 years now since I took the DEK out of the car I've had some 3.5L custom manifold ideas/plans but I haven't touched my car due to a forced hiatus. I should be back this summer with a 3.5L though, looking forward to getting back into it, I've missed it for sure. Been driving around a SLOW stock 5th gen the last 2 years.

I'll be interested to see what your car does with cams in it (I think I read you were going to cam it?)

Hey you did kill me by almost 2 tenths on 60 foot, but yeah you still got me beat.

Yep, they're mild cams... just BC S2s. I really wanted something over 11mm lift and 272ish duration, but the S2s fell into my lap BNIB for a deal I couldn't possibly pass up. Hopefully it works well.

Can't wait to see you out with the 3.5.... Going to be some really fast NA 1/4 mile times this year with Aaron, you, grey99, jaypee all moving forward.

It is definitely possible. Go crazy with the weight reduction and you could probably do it with the power you have. A better 60' would be needed but I know you can do it.

I wish I was on that list. Although I have no money to experiment.
I love experimenting with new things, hence the cheap ghetto stuff I did to make my car faster. lol

The only reason I didn't include you is because you're at a point where power mods and tuning will be needed to make major increases again, aside from getting some better 60' times. And you didn't seem too keen or able to continue modding. Prove me wrong, though!

Believe me I didn't expect to be on the list. Car is pretty much maxed out like you said.

I'm having trans problems. I think the stock clutch is locking out 3rd gear becuase power shifting 3rd is non-existant now.
I'm so tired of breaking transmissions that I will probably take a break for awhile.

Every car I have the transmission breaks, I know it is the way I drive, but it would be convienent if they would just work. lol

Yeah I ONLY power shift at the track, and even then won't do more than 4-5 runs driving that way. Trans is annoying to replace...

I power shift all the time. For how much I beat on this car, I'd say the trans is actually pretty good. I just wish it was bulletproof.

Cattman Y-pipe. The 3" Y-pipe sounds more like a lawnmower, although most people around here like it because it's "deeper"

Honestly I don't like how it sounds and I'm not entirely convinced it made any major gains. I may test it on a dyno one day, but it will still sound like poo to me.

Yeah if you get your 60' lower you'll pass my 3L times easily, but you should be quicker/faster with a 3.5L.

I'm not building my 3.5L for N/A, it's going to be boosted ultimately, but I will have to run it N/A for a couple years first (cash flow issue). So it won't be optimized for N/A but if all goes according to plan I expect it'll still do 11's. We'll see.

Sick run man! You were really shifting that thing. Were you powershifting because it didn't sound like it?

I gotta try small, lightweight wheels to see how it affects trap speed/ET. I was running on my heavy stock 17s with sh!tty tires. I keep thinking what it could do if I had it prepped for the track. Who knows if I'll ever find out!

The fact that there are numerous 12 second Maximas is impressive. Sleepers for sure.

That was about 90% powershifting. I barely let off the gas but not much. I feel like a 2.0-2.1 on street tires on a good day could yield me a 12.8-12.9, but not sure. The smaller tires do help a lot on gearing, but more so on the launch.

quick tip on tire pressure..

you need to go way lower then 16/19psi. try about 11psi to start. get them warmed up(make sure they smoke, at least a little). launch at a decent rpm.

if you spin, lower the pressure by one psi. launch at same rpm. you will either bog or spin less. if you bog, raise your launch rpm. if you spin, lower the pressure again. and run again.

just keep this up til you hit that sweet spot and get under the 1.7's

im consistently pulling 1.7's and have hit high 1.6's with only about 6-7 runs down the track.

You must be talking about slicks. I used to have MT slicks and I ran them at pressures that low... However, these are Hoosier Drag Radials. Not slicks. Hoosier recommends not to go below 17 psi (hot) on them and all of my research on these same tires has people running them at 19-21psi. I will definitely go back to slicks at some point, but for now I'm using these DRs and they supposedly don't like low pressure.

I wonder if I'd be able to pull 12s if I implemented DRs to my new setup. Or at least low low 13s. I did 14.0s on a 2.35 60' (YIKES!). To my defense, I wasn't really trying to launch hard because of my motor mounts. I'm at least hoping for 13.5 out of my new setup on street tires.

What really impresses me is your 275+whp from 5500-7000 redline. That's basically where you are the entire time in the 1/4 mile. That really helps.

I've seen people pull high 12s on 102-103 traps, it's all about getting off the line. If you can get a 1.7-1.8 60 foot you'll be well into the 12s. Would like to see what your car is trapping now to get a better idea, though.

Yep, having that flat powerband up top is a huge bonus. Area under the curve FTMFW

Yes sir. Flat as FAWK too.

Well, I haven't gotten the new Jpipe/merge collector yet. My car felt like p00 though on that 14.0 run. I was expecting 103 traps at least. If I don't do 103-104 when I go back after the Jpipe/full 3in I'm probably gonna stop modding lol.

Yep.. Only loses 6whp between the 5900 peak and 7200 redline. Funny thing is that the car doesn't feel that fast because of the flat curve up top (butt dyno failure).

With all the new exhaust work, I can see you getting upwards of 104-106 on a good DA. These cars are known to pick up 15-20whp on the 3" from a 2.5" and that's good for 2mph by itself.

True.

When do you plan on doing the cam install/dyno? Any idea on the next track date as well?
