First time with my I35 at the track. Dissapointing or on Par?

First time with my I35 at the track. Dissapointing or on Par?

Went to Great Lakes Dragaway yesterday in Union Grove, WI. It was pretty hot out, but Ive been itching to go so I finally just went, especially since it was discount night. Only $30 to race for 5.5 hours.

1st Run

R/T .501
60' 2.230
330 6.402
1/8 9.824
MPH 72.55
1000 12.759
1/4 15.258
MPH 89.86

2nd Run

R/T .607
60' 2.227
330 6.354
1/8 9.75
MPH 73.35
1000 12.662
1/4 15.142
MPH 90.71

3rd Run

R/T .694
60' 2.198
330 6.358
1/8 9.775
MPH 73.01
1000 12.701
1/4 15.190
MPH 91.67

The 2.198 60' is my personal best ever lol. That was on street tires down to 26 psi. I just dont know why I wasnt capable of breaking into the 14s...2002 I35 AUTO, BOP, Intake Spacers, and GAB. I know I'm still practically stock, but was hoping to crack 14s nonetheless. Perhaps its possible on a cooler day, Idk. Hopefully someone can take a look at these slips and tell me where im going wrong! I got about 6-7 runs in total, but one they didnt have my slip for, and the others are progressively worse, so I posted my top three runs

Yeah I mean i pulled a 2.19 on street falkens. I don't think that was my issue. It was 90 degrees out and even at 10 when I left it was 82.

with the conditions you were running in I wouldn't say you are too far off where you should be. high 80s and the barometric pressure was pretty mediocre will suck a few mph. you'd probably gain 2-3mph in 60 degree weather.

thanks for the input. I calculated for the density altitude and given conditions, and it says i would be at 14.68 at 94.90 mph at sea level in ideal conditions. I know thats not what I ran, but is more on par with what I was expecting. Like I said, I just really wanted to go and see what she could do. Intake, exhaust, suspension will be coming up, so hopefully at the end of summer/start of fall, i can drastically improve on these times

Man nice 60's. I need to start lowering my front pressure. I keep it at street 32psi and get mad for to much spin lol

But your times seem about right for your condition. Your gaining about 18mph between 1/8 and 1/4 which should be the minimum so thats good.

I'm not convinced on GAB. I would like to see if you change that by itself to another type intake if you can get some benefit.

Honestly, changing the tire pressure on street tires doesn't really do much at all.

I can get 2.1 60fts on super crappy nexen street tires with like 35psi in them. lol

Well, everyone launches different. I was pulling higher 2.2x-2.3 60' when I was at 32 psi (stock, how i normally ride around). Lowered it to 26, and consistently pulled low 2.2x and hit the 2.19 with it. It worked for me. As far as intake, Im going to be getting the Cattman combo intake with the JWT POP im pretty sure. Get paid next friday and need to add something. I've been debating heavily whether I should get some headers and a fine tune with a SAFC/VAFC II. I know my numbers arent impressive, I was just looking for feedback and seeing what more experienced guys thought

Added a Short Ram Intake with an A'pexi filter. Definitely pulls hard with this cooler weather we've been having here in Wisconsin. Hoping to find someone with a cipher/consult II in my area so I can get the 17* timing advance and then hit up the track again to try and break the 14s

Hahaha, my mom lives in Forest Park, and the difference in temperature between here and there is ridiculous. Most days have been 80s, with the night time weather dropping to 60s most nights. One night this week it hit 58*. I live in Manitowoc, about 1.5 hours north of Milwaukee. We are right on the lake, so it tends to be a lot cooler than even other places around the state, let alone Chicago. Im hoping to get back to the track before I take off for some out of state work soon, so we will see!
