old beater third gen
Its a 92 gxe with a ve5 swap.
Friday Night it went 14.3 @96 with a wsp y-pipe and home made 2.5" exhaust. It was on bald street tires, but the track was prepped pretty well so it mustered a 2.2 60'. I only got one run in (OSW gets packed on quick 8 nights).
I bought this car for 400 bucks off craigslist, not running of course. After figuring out the swap wiring and addressing 1500 other issues, it finally did something cool.

Thanks guys, I'm pretty happy with the results. I'm thinking that if I can get a 2.0 60' or better, this piece could go 13's! Any recommendations on tire brand/sizing for a slick? I'm just shifting into 4th near the end of the track on the street tires.

what are your future mod plans? sizing slicks optimally for right now might mean they are suboptimal for future use if you change things significantly, so you have to take that into account.

For now, I would like to Keep it naturally aspirated. The problem is, their aren't many ways to improve on the VE (besides the under-drive pulley and y pipe) unless you pull it apart or make parts. I have a Fidanza flywheel sitting here with an Exedy clutch I need to put on. I could port the throttle body, build some long tube headers, tune the thing and see what happens...
A friend of mine is giving me some 22" slicks to use. I'm going to try them out this Friday!

We shall see tonight! I'm going to try and get the car aligned today (better than what I have done already with a tape measure) and put the slicks on. If the stock clutch doesn't fail I don't see why it wouldn't go 13s.

The Maxima went 14.2@95 with the slicks. Unfortunately, the clutch was slipping, then started slipping really bad on the next run. I know it has 13's in it. I'm getting a spec stage 3 so I can really launch this thing.

Nice can't wait to see what you get after updating the clutch.
My brother still misses his 3rd gen that he had in 04, that he lost when it caught on fire.
