Excellent times!!! I know some freak out there will get a stock auto Max to run 14.4s stock. It's all a matter of finding the best traction and low rolling resistance for these type of cars. If you can find the narrowest Nitto drag radial appropriate for your application and boost rear tire pressures up to 45 psi, I see no reason why 14.3s and 14.4s can't be had!

Read High Performance Pontiac 10/97 about my dad's 100% stock (spare tire, jack, everything intact) Bonneville S/C that runs 14.525@94.1 mph with a 2.09 60' on stock Goodyears.

cuz any of you read the battle of the altima and the maxima it came out that the altima hit a14.8 and the maxima hit a 14.9 consistent. both of them were stick shift. does the auto run much better in a sense of a 1/4 mile or is article kind of have some discrepency that I dont know about.( I think the magazine was car and driver or compact sportscar)or something. Can anyone you guys clear my mine blown dilemma and straighten me out on the facts?

I've read numerous articles stating that the 15hp difference is neglegable. I would however think that the 6speed would be faster considering the gear ratios are closer and your closer to the optimum power range after shifting. Car and Driver always seem to post higher times than actual, but we also have to remember that every car is different. There's too many variables involved to accurately say which is faster. One things for sure. Both cars are wonderful for different reasons.
Does going through the gated shifter really produce better results than just putting it in drive?
