wat do you mean? can the vg20et or the vg30et can do 0-60 in 4.7 sec?? well it can be done but not in a maxima fwd car only in rwd car for the shear fact that the fwd trannys are week, but might be doable if thers money and time to reinforce the maxima 5 speed tranny and then we are looking at like 0-60 at somwhear from 5 - 6 sec..... (stock 0-60 times for maxima 2nd gen is 8 sec)....

more info may be needed to....

if you are stating a vg20et being able to do 4.5 on moded fule system and increaced boost.. i dont think that is posible for the vg20et to do 4.5sec 0-60. the vg30et makes 200 hp and 227 ft/lb of tq while the vg20et makes 170hp and like a mear 180 ft/lb of tq.. so if you moded the vg20et's fule sys. and increaced boost you are just going to end up with vg30et 0-60 times.. your best bet would be to get a vg30e/t and mod that if you want to get faster 0-60 times..

p.s.vg20et to vg30et is a pluge and play just swap E.C.U's, you should keep your vg20et tranny since its geard to reduse t-lag

ну хуй его знает, замеры делались радарами и секундомерами, так же рядом сидел пассажир, который засекал время старта и разгона.

using translator i got this...

1: Nu Huy knows, measurements were made radar detectors and секундомерами, near засекал, who was sitting in the passenger start and disperse.

2: I am in Russia very difficult and expensive to find vg30et there are 2-litre and турбовые

well i still find it hard to belive thar a front wheel drive vg20et can run 4.5 sec from 0-100kph /0-60mph. but if it was done that would mean lots of money put in to the car..

if any one in this forme can give ther opinon on a 4.5 sec 0-60 vg20et or vg30et fwd car pleace input...

are there any Z31 300zx you can get one from? the turbo model came with the engine you are looking for. the VG30ET turbo doesnt come with a intercooler but is far more efficient with one

translated (Russian writing is so fuking cool lol)

есть ли какие-нибудь Z31 300zx, Вы можете добраться один от? турбо модель шла с двигателем, который Вы ищете. турбо VG30ET doesnt идет с промежуточным теплообменником, но намного более эффективно с одним

We did not get any manual J30 downunder. Cheers Vee

Yep maxima. Sorry about that i forget you have the J30 Infininty there.
We did not get them down here.
The 2nd generation Maxima in the USA was it only available with VG30E or did you have also the VG20E Turbo like they did in japan??
Just wondering if the VG20E Turbo had different gear ratios in the box to the VG30E?
Few of them floating around here imported from Japan as used imports so i could convert a J30 Maxima to manual as we donot have a J30 Maxima Manual here.

think it had the same box, as well as in the stanza or blurbird u12 with the ka24

its an ok box i just hate the top speed and the lack of another gear, doing 5k at 130 and shift into reverse thinking you got another gear isint cool<---not at all LOL!

im 99% sure we didnt get the VG20E turbo, i saw a fully built imported 2nd gen with a VG20E though and that thing was SCARY.

the closest thing we got was Z31 300zx had the VG30E and VG30ET, you can use the exhaust manifolds, oil lines, piping, etc. from a Z31 turbo and use it on a 2nd gen or 3rd gen Maxima VG30E

yeah the gearing is different like any car model that came with turbo and non turbo.. they change the gears to compensate for the lower hp and tq.. example 300zx turbo trans on a n/a motor and you will have a sick *** launch and quiker 1st to 2nd gear changes.... hope this answers your question....

Thanks for all the information it has been a help. The VG30ET is just a VG20ET bored out a little more. They were pretty popular in Japan and i think also they sent them to Europe. Finding an FSM for one is not so easy though as i would like to find the ratios in the gearbox.
Final drive seems to be FG41. Cheers Vee

I have a question, does anyone still make headers for this car. I have an 85 Max with 35k original miles and even though I love the car the way it is, a little more pickup would be nice.
