Shifter problem

My shifter will not lock into place... I can move it from drive to neutral just by bumping it. A real problem if I'm driving it at the time. Anyone run into this problem...if so...what's the fix?

Ummm, that is normal for automatics to do that. As long as you can't go through reverse by bumping it, or down by bumping it your fine.

It does go throught reverse also...I can move the shifter from reverse through neutral and drive with out using the shift button. the shifter does not lock/click into place in reverse or drive... I have to be real careful when putting the shifter in reverse or drive...alot of time it stays in neutral and I have to move the shifter and reposition it several times to get it into drive or reverse.

I would then do an inspection of your shift linkage. The lock lever could be worn down or broken.
