Turbo project update

Hi all! Well, all is going pretty good so far with the exception of a couple little hick-ups. The first being that I think the PROFESSIONALS who rebuilt my heads didn't do a very good job. I have some valve train noise on one head in one corner.

My NEW thermostat decided to cave so I couldn't heat up hence the cly. head temp. sensor was always reading cold, hence rich condition.

Other than that, BOOOOOYA!

Below is a picture of the blow-off valves we are making. The smaller one just came off a test car (turbo'd 74 Celica running low 14's). The larger one is our new prototype, it will be tested on my car. This is just a teaser to the cool stuff we are making. As you can see, on the larger one, there are two outlet options. One being a LOUD trumpet and the other allowing the attachment of a tube to route the fuel back to the inlet airstream if you so choose. Catch you later!!

Re: Turbo project update

I still say you'd have a market for it, if you'd manufacture the pieces needed, and adapters, etc..., you needed to do the basic swap, and sold it as a kit. I know I'd be on the list about this time next year, if I still have my car...

Maybe you could even write up some tips sheets to go with the kit, to hel pout the buyer...

Re: Re: Turbo project update

That's the plan!!

We just finished testing a custom turbo ex. manifold for a civic too, worked pretty good, but need to make a few changes in CAD and try a new model.

All that being said, there is going to be some cool stuff coming down the pipe:

Turbo Conversion kit for 2nd gen Maxima
Assorted blowoff valves
External Wastegates
Asjustable emergency pressure relive valves
Modified 300zx intakes (better CFM)

All this stuff is in the works now. See below for pics of Civic manifold, prototype one. It is two piece, CNC machined. Sweet!

While you are at it, you should also consider CAIs, and Headers....(not to mention y-pipes and all the other goddies not found on the 85-86 Maximas.....)

Yes, if you do those, you will be worshipped. A y-pipe you be nice, but one thing we lucked out is that our crossover pipe minimized the restriction of exhaust. It you look at the 3rd gen stock y-pipe, there is a crapload of restriction because one of the pipe joins up in the opposite direction of the exhaust flow.

Hey KALSC!!!

Madd props! I got a question...
What are ya other modding projects after this Turbo project?

It would spectacular that not only ya have the Turbo as well as the whole works! Ya probably do, I don't know ya.

But I can see that ya could be a leader in the 2nd Generation Maxima in leading this Cars more to the AfterMarket. And possibly a spotlight article in one those Top Import magazines. So far I think ya gonna be a legend to the 2nd GenMax performance. It's like if ya the 2nd Gen leading warrior...top dawg! holla back

peace.
