Okay, as far as some of you guys know, I took a pair of dual sunvisors from a 96 Chevy Blazer. So today, I paid another visit to the good 'ole yard. This time, I was looking for the overhead map lights with the compass/external thermometer feature, and the auto-dimming rear view mirror. Armed with a tape measure and my box of tools, I went in. I found out that the overhead console ( from a Eddie Bauer Edition Ford Explorer) wouldn't fit due to the length. It would hit the windshield and the sunroof. I can custom fit the console so that it could fit, but that idea didn't come until after I long left the place. The good news is I found the auto dimming rear view mirror from a totaled 97 Buick Park Avenue! I took it off, clipped the wires, paid 15 dollars and took it home for testing. It works great! I had to turn off all the lights in my house, get my camcorder to use the light as a headlight, and try to make it dim. This isn't motorized, it has a auto-tinting system in it. I'll will find a way to install it because this is a glass mount rearview mirror and I didn't take the metal mount off the Park Ave.

I will post some pics as soon as this project is completed. Someone gave me another idea too; rearview mirror defoggers (the ones that is on the outside!)! I saw those on a Lincoln Towncar (well, kinda. the mirror was taken off, but there was way too many wires for a motorized mirror, but I'll check)

................Stay tuned for part 2. Peace.........
