ok now, i have some questions. 1 some had said u can get the CAS off with out removing the distributer? am i rite or wrong? well i read the book followed all the lines and wiring and the CAS is part of the distributer itself. this poses a problem, the only thing i can see u can get out with out removing the distributer is the CHTS, as for the car flooding i have a set of performance plugs i bought when i put my plugs in a month or so ago, i was jus waiting for good weather im putting NGK V-power plugs thats if i can get this running, now is the only problem my last resort, wut every one is saying based on the info at hand is my CAS am i rite cause if so im gonna go get one tomorrow or actually in jus a lil while, so if possible any speedy answers would be a wonder of help, as for adjusting the timing and wut not thats a piece of cake i have NP doing that but i jus want the car running first, thanx to all in advance

uh yeah new / used distr. it is apart of it. thats what they did to mine put a distributor from a junkyard car in mine. ****ed me off. But the car is running so what can I say. But yeah the distributor is going to have to be replaced or switched and tried out.

 

how much did u pay? i have the opportunity to buy a used one that was tested out and worked, for like 60 so im gonna call about that tomorrow since everything is closed.

got a used distrubuter yester day installed it n carefully checked everythin tryed to start it anit jus put put puts, it wont run any ideas? i also changed spark splugs jus in case, but still nuthin can some one help me im stuck

i would but it dont move, and i dont have the money to spend beacause i might be gettin another car sooner than i thought if i can work out a deal with a dealer, tho i needa get it workin, soon so any advice will be great

Well, see if you can get someone who works on cars over to your place to look at it. You may have gotten the parts needed to get it running but you may have installed them incorrectly.

I replaced my crank angle sensor also. From a junk yard and it was free. Removed it put it in my tool bag. not telling you to do that

 

i replaced CAS and it jus wants to start? so would that be cause this one is bad also? cause before i got nuthin at all with my old one this one it seems it wants to run, or as if its gettin weak spark, i think maybe cause the max i pulled it from was in the way back, where as ive seen several come and go, i got the distributer and cap n rotor, so maybe the contacts are bit corroded from sittin so long, so maybe if i jus clean it up a bit n try that see wut i get, hopefully i can get it soon

I did the same think. had to replace it twice. The first time I took my parts off an automatic ,thinking they're the same parts.The second time because mine is a 5 speed took both parts off the same car. That could be an issue.

 

well im done with the car, ive had it i spent 3 hours today tryin to get it to run, almsot had it then it sounded as if it coughed and wheezed then after that nuthin from there on
my only thought is i blew the coil either way i cleaned it out and as soon as i get a couple hundred bucks im goin for the firebird, im 19 and out of high school, besides the fact im goin to college for auto tech i want a car i can have some fun with so hey its my only option now

BTW way any one need minor parts? i dont wanna strip the car to a hulk jus pull minor **** if ya need it, the $$ will be agreat help jus lemme kno wut u need and i'll do my best to help ya, BTW i have 2 alternators, both in good runnin condition if any one needs.

 

Are any of those alternators high output? I might need the A/C switch, but I dunno yet. It really depends if rodney finds one for me. :P
