Washer pump..

A few days ago I notice the pump was squirting the washer fluid lower and lower. Today, there is no pump at all. I'm assuming I need a new pump (checked fuses , fluid level etc.). Unfortunately, my Haynes manual doesn't show squat in regards to the pump. Anyone know where it is and how easy it is to replace? BTW, it's an '88.

Thanks.

I don't have my Chiltons on hand, but if I remember correctly it is bolted onto the back of the engine compartment, on the firewall. If that's it, then it should be a snap to replace. Open up the hood and see if you can trace the washer lines to it. I'll give you a definitive answer once I get access to my manual.

Thanks, I'd appreciate it. I traced the lines, but didn't see any pump (I'll go check again), so I was assuming the pump was integral to the reservoir, or mounted near it. This is a pain, because it looks like the reservoir is somewhere in the wheel well (hard to get at). If you could check your Chilton's and let me know where the pump is, it would help a lot.

Disregard...I found it. It's mounted on the washer reservoir in the wheel well. The connection was so rusted that when I touched the connector, it just fell off the pump. Still, I suppose that can be expected after 15 years. I'm going to install a universal pump - $17.99 at Canadian Tire.
