87 gxe runnin crappy-bad maf??

hi guys ive been around maxima.org for a while now but this is my first post...

yesterday i satrted my max and it was runnin really rough like it sometimes does when its hot. i tried to drive it off(usually smooths out) this time it didnt. it would die if i left it to idle. to keep it runnin i had to continously tap the gas lightly. this morning i had the same problem. i was lookin under the hood and decided to unplug the maf .... after that it idled perfectly and ran good up to 2k rpm. plug it back in and the problem continues. i tried to drive it and didnt get very far b4 i decided to go back home.

ive got 170k+ on my max, had the injector recall done last fall, have my roomates jwt pop charger custom mounted from his 89 max.

does this sound like a bad maf??? any help is much appreciated!

The first thing that I would check would be that there aren't any air leaks and that the air filter that you got is connected correctly. It's possible that you could have a bad MAF too, so I'd check the computer codes. See if any sensors are bad, such as the MAF, and check the fuel/air ratio through the computer. It's also possible that you're having a fuel delivery issue. You may have a bad fuel pressure regulator, you might need a new fuel filter, or you may have some other issue with fuel not getting to the engine.
