Does anyone know if a 1987 (w/SOHC engine) automatic transmission fit on a 1992 DOHC engine? Where can I find this info? Thanks.

Well, fit won't be an issue. The issue is first the control unit. If I remember right, 3rd gen automatics have a electronic control to switch between performance mode, or economy mode...something like. The 87 doesn't have it. In my opinion, if you want to put another auto on a 92, I would go with the same or newer tranny with any car. That way your not running into compatibility issues, and usually its easier to make a conversion to a newer transmission than it is to going backwards.
