Does anyone know if a MAF from a 90-96 NA z32 would work with our cars. They should be a little larger, and for all intents and purposes, may respond faster to changes in flow. But, will it plug into our cars?

 

Its a possiblility, but I don't think it will work because the ECU its meant for is a bit newer than our cars. Its definately worth a try to see what happens, but in my mind, its pretty unlikely it will work.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, as well. I wish I had access to one, just to test it out.

 

Also, I know the 89 Z32 has intake plenum for a single inlet, but didn't the 90 and newer NA models also get the dual intake plenums (one for each bank) each with thier own TB and MAF sensor like the turbo's did? That can also attribute to that. I think I might go and check some 300ZX boards and see what they have.

Unless you get the ECU reprogrammed it won't work. Our MAF is good for up to 250-270hp. Now you can always recalibrate the MAF to run alittle more power. However you'd need the FSM and a dyno to test it (I did this). Going to a bigger maf won't produce anymore power.

 

I know that technically the MAF will not produce more power, but some MAF's can respond to changes faster than OEM units, allowing for better throttle response, etc...
