Since the 88 maxima and the 88 300zx have the same engine will the intake from the 300zx work on the maxima I believe the only problem is the engine is turned different.

For this swap to work you have to make sure that your injectors are color coded the same in your car and the 300zx. Furthermore, the injectors are usually matched to the ecu. An ecu with a different serial number may actually burn the injectors. Injectors may be calibrated diffent.
