I should have bought the Commodore

Hi guys,
The fuel injectors from my 2.0i V6 '88 Max have broken. Does anybody know where I can get new ones from. So far the mechanic has only found 3.0i injectors. Is the only option to import parts from Japan, or are there substitutes on local Australian cars?

I would assume that there isn't much difference from the VG30E and the VG20E injectors. Most likely your gonna have to import them...I'm not sure what other cars came with the VG20E either, so maybe finding what other car has that motor would be a good shot.

Wouldn't the injection levels be different between a 2.0 and a 3.0i

Yeah, but even so, they should work. I know that you can use VG30DETT injectors on pretty much any Nissan V6, and some of those injectors run 555cc per minute etc. If your planning any sort of performance modifications with your car, it would probably be a good idea to consider the VG30E injectors.

What sort of impact would installing one VG30E injector in with 5 VG20E injectors have on my car?

That would probably be a bad idea. Generally the rule of thumb is if you place one injector, you want to do all of them. You definately don't want to mix them either because it can cause some bad performance problem, like one cylinder running too rich or too lean compared to the rest of them. It can cause the motor to run pretty rough.

Yeah that's what others have said. Any idea on how much it'd cost to replace them all?

Well, in the US, I believe it's upwards of $300 or more I believe...but don't hold me to that. Anyone else got better numbers?

The dealership that did the recall on my car said it would have cost me around $750-1000 USD for the injectors, harness, and labor if I had it done without benefit of a recall. Now, if you do it yourself and don't replace the harness, then it would be cheaper, maybe around $300 as Sarin mentioned for new injectors. If you're going to go with different injectors though, you may need to replace the harness and possibly the fuel rail, I'm not sure.
