Hey guys, been driving around and the last few days have been pretty hot. I've been using my A/C a lot since about thursday or so. My question is, is it normal to have water leak on the the passenger size floor. There isn't a ton of it, but enough to drip maybe a small cupful on to the carpet. I felt up in where area where the water was coming from. There seems to be a tiny bit of standing water there. The water is a little dirty, but that's probably from the dust and what not in the system. I'm thinking that since I was using it so much that there was a lot of condesation that the pan that holds that became overfilled. I don't think it's r-12 coolant, what you guys think?

Well on the bottom of our cars should be a small clear plastic tube that comes out of the bottom and it sends all the water down to the ground. You may have lost yours.

Or the outlet may be plugged...

I've cleaned the outlet before on other cars with a
metal coat hanger.

Be careful when you clean it out though... there's a
core in the box that can get damaged easily.

I'd find the outlet tube, and with the engine running and
A/C running, push up in the tube with the coat hanger (stop
if you feel a lot of resistance) and see if water starts
coming out.

Hope this helps...

both of the first 2 posts are right. 9 out of 10 your condensate drain is plugged. I do heating and air conditioning for a living in the military and its all the same principal. Unplug the drain and you should be straight. It doesnt matter how long you run your A/C, your condensate pan should never fill with water to the point it gets on the carpet. Keep us posted if you get it fixed.

Will do, I just need to find time to do it, as well as where the drain is. I will get back to you guys on that.

The drain should be visible from underneath the car. It should be a strange looking clear plastic tube like it shouldnt be there. But its your drain tube.

I had the same problem.
Ended up dismantling the A/C Box inside the car and found Lots of Wet Dust Bunnies on the coil. Cleaned with small Shop Wac rubber brush/tube and cleaned the plastic pan too. LOTS of Krud. Drain pipe clogged as well. Cleaned it out and on occasion use a 3" coat hanger to keep the drain hose open Located on firewall behind engine near the Power steering tank.
