throttle problem....

ok my maximas gas pedal was tweaked in a way where theres literally no "play"...i like it that way...kinda like instant results...

any way i had to move the car today and i hop in turn it on and it does its funny rough idle thing like it usually does (what causes that?) so i press down on the gass a little bit and the rpm go DOWN...the h*ll i'm thinkin..so i press a little harder and its fine after about 1/8-1/4 of an inch....why's it doing this? could my TPS be off a little bit....i dont know why but its freakin me out and this is the first time its done this.....i want my instant results to go up and not down

Well, if you want to be sure it isn't the TPS, check the ECU for codes. That would give you the very first hint to the problem as well as the correct place to look.

Or check out the 2nd gen club on Yahoo, link is in my sig. There's a section called LINKS and in there is a link to a site called RAT Performance, or something to that effect. They have a really good write up on how to diagnose the ECU for our cars.
