Got the Tranny Out!
Got the Tranny Out!
Here are my victory pictures. Now to get the flywheel out. I'm going to start calling around today. While I'm at it, should I just replace the flywheel with a light performance flywheel? I'm willing to spend no more than $300 on this total project, and I can get all the clutch components for $123. That leaves me with ~$260 to spend on various parts. Anything that would be a safe bet to replace while I've got the tranmission out? I DO NOT want to go pulling this out again anytime soon.
Well, considering your budget, and your problems, I would just get the flywheel resurfaced, or find a cheap one to replace if neccessary. Don't forget to do the main engine seal while your in there!

Big yay, everything is ok except for the clutch disk. I guess a spring had popped out and prevented it from engaging the flywheel. I have no idea how the flywheel wasn't torn apart, but it wasn't! Here is the old disk, which I have already replaced for $29.99! The only problem now is that the head of one of the bolts from the pressure plate to the flywheel cracked off, and tomorrow I need to chisel it out. Baah.
