Hi all. I'm looking into getting a new stereo for my Max, and I need to know the wattage of the speakers and stereo so I can choose the right model to upgrade to. I looked in my owners manual and on the net, but I can't find anything relating to the speaker wattage or stereo output. Any help is appreciated.

Most aftermarket stereos have about 20 watts per channel. You could keep the factory speakers and they will sound better than with the original radio. If they are still original, I bet they are dry rotten or even blown by now. Your best bet would be to atleast upgrade to some 5 1/4's that are beter than factory(which is probably everything on the market) I wouldnt really worry about the wattage that the new radio puts out. If the speakers cannot handle it, you will hear them distort long before they blow(so just turn the bass down and they should be alright)
