Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Monday: I decide instead of waiting to find the new car I want, to register my Maxima again for the interim. The car gets towed to a shop to do the work since I am lazy and don't have the right tools at the moment. I tell the shop to have it done by Wednesday.

Tuesday: I buy the part the shop needs, and drop it off. Car hasn't been touched.

Wednesday: Go to check on car, which is now registered and insured once again, and car hasn't been touched. I (AND my mom, hahahaha) tell garage to get their asses in gear.

Thursday: Car still not done. Now keep in mind this whole week has been a struggle to get to and from work.

Friday: Car done. I go to pick it up, and they tell me a couple things. A: the part I said I needed is not necessary. I WHOLEHEARTEDLY disagreed, I cleared the ECU 4 times and the same error code came up each time, and also the symptoms were comparable to the code the ECU gave me. He says "the car barely runs, I'm not sure why. I messed with some things and got it running rough, if I were you I wouldn't put another cent into it. "I can't guarantee that this thing will even run past the weekend, but we'll see" he says. At this point I am ****ED, I ask what he did. "Blah Blah Blah, just fiddled with this and that". Im thinking to myself at this point "great, this guy doesn't know ****". I know DAMN WELL the car has no major issues, and it ran like a dream the whole time before it broke. Drive the car home, and it is spitting and sputtering and acting all wacky. I mess with the idle adjustment as well as a few other things, change the fuel filter, drop some injector cleaner in, all is well. Car runs like a DREAM again. Drive to work Friday, Saturday, run errands, car runs AWESOME again. Get done working Saturday night, go home, shower, leave to go about 2 hours north to visit my parents and friends. Get 10 miles away from where I got on the highway, car dies. I pull over, try starting, and it starts, runs for 10 seconds really rough, then dies. Try again, nothing. I pop the hood, mess with some things, nothing. I sit there with the hazard lights on and my door open for 3 ******* hours with noone even bothering to slow down. Finally a cop comes, tells me he'll call a tow truck. Tow truck comes an hour later, picks the car up, brings me home. Here I sit, angry. Heres a synopsis of the events in chronological order.

Monday: car goes to shop
Friday: Get car back, 400 bucks later
Saturday: Car dies, I sit on highway for 4 hours, pay 120 bucks for a tow truck
Sunday: Day off, however I can't go anywhere because I dont have a ride and I dont have any money
Monday: Worktime, but how I am going to get there I dont know. How I am going to get car towed back to shop I dont know. How I am going to get money to get car fixed I dont know.

I had a similar problem with my Max... intermittantly it would run
very rough (almost like it was running on one cylinder), no power
at all (barely even enough to move it off the road).

Other times it would be okay... till one day I'm pulling into a
parking garage downtown on one of the worst days in winter
and the car pulls it's sputtering ordeal and dies... except this
time it won't start.

Got it towed in and found out the coil was shot.

Replaced it and the car has never had the problem again.

Well, found the problem to be 1/2 coil issues and 1/2 chts issues. Car runs like a dream again, with 187,000 miles and ticking. I just can't get enough of this car
