reading the ecu
reading the ecu
ok I finally got around to checking my ecu in my 87 SE...and I went into mode three and checked the codes...I got code 2(red) and 1(green)...has anyone gotten this code before and if so what did you have to fix/replace? Also when checking the ecu do you need to check all five modes? Thanks.

I would hazard a guess that it means it isn't a do-it-yourself problem.

hmmm, if there's a failure in the ignition circuit, your car will be having a hard time running. I would clear the code from the ECU, drive it around a bit and check again for the code and see if it comes back, remember, if you can't recreate the problem, you don't have a problem. I know on 85-86 ECU's, they require that you operate a few things or else codes will pop up, like the TPS switch, and the load circuit. Could be that since the motor isn't running when you pull the code that it throws off that code. I would make sure you have the diagnosis process down first to make absolutely sure it wasn't an error by you when checking for the codes.
