Timing belt parts
http://www.partsamillion.com/ is a good place. Are you going to do a water pump and thermostat while they are in there?

Yep, I'm going to replace those as well.
I was hoping that there would be some kind of parts kit for the timing belt change. I want to be sure that I get every part and gasket that my mechanic will need.
Thanks...

This is what I replaced when I had my timing belt replaced
Timing belt+ tensioner+ return spring
Water pump + seal
Drive Belts (power steering…alternator…A/C)
Cylinder head temp sensor + splice in new harness
Thermostat
Crankshaft seal + Camshaft (right/left) seals
Cylinder head temp sensor, harness, crankshaft and camshaft seal I got from Nissan for around 60 dollars
Other parts cost me between 100-150… shopped the internet
Labor was 420
If your going to replace the timing belt I strongly recommend you replace the above parts while that part of the engine is apart.
quick question. my maxima is an 88 with 110,000. the timing belt was replaced at 90,00 so this belt only has 20,000. the catch is the car sat and wasnt started for a little over 2 years before i bought it. should i have the belt replaced a little early since it sat so long or should i not worry about it.
no the car was not started not even once. what worries me the most is how likely is it that the belt to break? if the surface or the belt is deteriorated and a rubber tooth breaks off it'll just throw the timing out and it should quit running. that doesn't worry me becasue if it happens ill replace it. but i hear these are the kind of engines that get demolished if the belt completely breaks. i really dont have any money right now. im only 16 and im waiting for my summer job to roll around. i if i do it im gonna do the job right and replace the belt, tensioner pully, head temp sensor, and water pump. of course tax return season is right around the corner.
... i don't know what to do. i only payed 350 for the car and as it sits i only put another 400 in parts into it total. that includes tires. it runs great.. hell it runs better than my parents vehicles that are 5 and 8 years newer. i just dont know weather to do it or not to prevent any costly repairs down the road.
