Looking at my car's records the previous owner filled with 5w30 most of the time, but this was also in texas and a little warmer, right now i'm running 10w40 without any noticable effects, 10w30 should be fine, run a high per. synthetic oil in 5w-30 for the most power, something like royal purple, it could get you about 5hp.

Nissan recommends either 10w30 or 10w40.

I am running 10w40 in mine.

I use 10w30...if you can go lighter you should...but for these old motors, 10w30 is more than good enough for most climates.
