Question about sunroof...
I'm the proud owner of an '87 Max Wagon. Once, a few years ago, while driving home from work, the glass panel in the sunroof blew completely off the car, leaving the metal frame behind. I called around, and found a complete, operational sunroof, complete with belly pan, etc...for $150, so I bought it. The roof came out of a sedan, so before I purchased it, I called the parts dept. of 3 Nissan dealers, to see if the sedan & wagon used the same sunroof...all three said yes. When I installed the new glass, all four corners, the front and side edges line up perfectly...but the the back doesn't. The curve profile is higher on the roof of the car, then the glass. This creates a 5/8" gap at the center of the sun roof, which allows for some serious leakage when it rains. Does anyone know if I was scammed? Should I look around for another glass panel, or do I need to find a good body shop?
