Headlight Problem seeking advice

Hello!

Here's the situation: Driving lights work; low beams do not work; left high beam does work.

What I've replaced/checked: Replaced bulbs made no difference; Measured volts at fuse box ~11.8 volts both sides; Inspected Light switch nothing visibly amiss; checked volts at light switch harness ~11.8 volts both sides; Checked volts at lamp harness did not get 11.8 volts but between 6-10 at different connections (going from memory sorry). No voltage on the ground wires at the lamp harness.

I wanted to inspect the grounds for the lamps but the wires are difficult to follow. Anyone know where the body grounds are? Also is there a relay somewhere, I couldn't locate it in the haynes manual, nor would i be certain if i looked for it myself.

My concensus thus far is that the problem is somewhere between the switch and the lamps, and possibly a bad ground. Opinions and Advice are most welcome.

From my experience, I would strongly suggest the headlight combo switch...in 5 years with my wagon, i've replaced mine twice...once with a used one from a wrecking yard that i paid $80 for, the second was a brand new Bosch unit for $120, with a LT waranty on it. the used one lasted about a year before it failed...and neither of them went the same way...but the failed used one i installed failed the way you are describing your lights.

Those switches are VERY complex inside, and there is no relay, so a lot of voltage goes through them. if i get to fix mine, OR replace it with another maxi, i'm planning on installing relays and heavier wires to the lights, making them last longer, the harnesses last longer, and reduce the voltage running through the switch, as well.

Thankyou for replying MaxWgn.

I'm gonna replace the switch today hopefully. Best I have found so far is priced around 169.99 for light/hazard/wiper switch assembly. Doubt they will sell me just the light switch. Won't hurt to ask though hehe.
