I don't think it would really have an adverse effect, but then again, I've never had a temp sensor go bad before. So I can't say for sure.

The only thing I've heard of it doing was result in **** poor gas mileage.

I remeber reading somewhere that all it does is makes the fuel recirculate faster back to the tank,to maintain better fuel mileage,so therfore all a bad one shoud do is cause bad mileage.

The only thing that might make some of us check it or fix it even if it did do just that are these rising gas prices.. lol!

Haven't checked the service manual yet, but where is the fuel temp sensor located?

It's inside the Fuel Pressure regulator. And gas prices out here suck!!! It cost me 2.21/gal for 87. That is a total rip-off!!!
Maybe I should convert to a hybrid.

Okay cool... I've already replaced my car's fuel pressure regulator...

Still, I only get about 200 miles to the tank, I see most getting
250 - 300 miles to the tank.

Oh well...

Don't worry Scott, on average I see between 200-225 miles to a tank. Keep in mind I drive in town, average 6 miles a day if even that. When I use to commute, I would drive 25 miles one way on the freeway, and was seeing about 325-350 a tank.

trinity....you suck!

I can get 92 from Costco for 1.95...but I've seen it as much as 2.35 a gallon in the Seattle area. 87 is about 1.75 a gallon at costco, but regular stataions are selling it for almost 2.00 a gallon. Of course I never use anything less than 92, my car just won't run right on anything less. So I have to fork out the change.

But to make you guys feel better....you could be living in Europe, paying $5.00 a liter! That isn't even a gallon!

i just thought of something else..... is there a way of testing the maf sensor without buying a new one to see if its working. theres no code on the computer but that doesnt mean its not faulty.
if not has anyone seen a better deal for one that's less than $300?
