ALMOST Hydro Locked
Dammit...I say I love mexico because of their cheap labor....I HATE IT . Heres my story.
WEnt down to mexico was driving over sum water that didnt even reach the bumper. There were some sand bads opn the side..they ripped letting tons of water in the street. Cought us all. The water was as high as underneath the headlights. like 8 cars stalled right there. I made my way out of that mess, the ckluthc was slipping, exhaustr was completeley under water and sounded like it was gagling at the manifold. It wated to die. I had removed my cai ..If i didnt It would have hydroed. Thjere was ALOT of water in the maf. So i puleld to the side after the lake i crossed. The engine was extremel;l;y hesitant. Water was for sure inside the engine. This had happened to my wagon before. I did what I did then. Reved the engine for around a kin at 5 = 6 k rpm. ALOT of vapor was coming out of the exhaust . It eventually cleared out and I left. Alternator was charging 18.. Once it dried it went back to 13. What a bad day I had..then the transmission specialist wasnt even there. gosh I hate mexico in the rain. If any ogf u ever go trough this..dlnt let the engine die :S Once on dry land rev it for around a min at 5k ...maybe if u need more then do so. Just dont drive on water if u got cai :S If yopu have to..remove it. Im glad im ok for now. Water makes rings expand and leak..so well see what happens later on.

Well I guess I won't be taking my honda there.... I wouldn't want it to float downstream!
In the wonderful town of Newberrytown, PA there's a road called Still House Road. A creek runs across the road. No bridge, PA isn't smrt enough to put a bridge there. So the creek runs across the road, about 8-10" deep, with a sign just after the beginning of the road: "FORD AT OWN RISK"
All the rednecks in their 4x4s liked to drive through the creek to show off.... I took my 89 Sentra through it just to see if I could. and I made it. since then though, I guess too many people got stuck, so they made the road a dead end, and put road blocks on each side of the creek... needless to say, my redneck friends didn't like that, so one night, about 4 of us were out that way and one of the road blocks somehow ended up in the back of my friend's truck, and it hasn't been replaced yet.. oops.

One thin to add.... When You dont have cai.. the car can make it but well the alternator starts charging at 18 till it dries. I loved my wagon before i had the cai. (remembers going to mexico and comign back succefully.)

when I drove the maxima through the creek everything got soaked... it ran, but everything got soaked. the alternator belt got so wet it was slipping so bad that the alternator light was glowing steady for a good while. good thing I made it home!
