Anybody know what I did here?

Last night accelerating to pass a slow poke from kokomo, I floored my auto transmission, v-6 Maxima. She kicked down a gear accelerated nicely, and aas I backed off the gas, it popped out of gear into what seemed like freewheeling/nuetral, and refused to go back into gear. Ended up drifting down the opther side of a bridge and into a parking lot where now she sits (sniff, sniff).

I love this car, is there any hope of saving hewr, or should I take her out and shoot her? Am I looking at an expensive repair?

HELP! HELP! HELP!
