But if they can't afford $150 for a performance ECU, what makes you think they can afford OEM ECU that's $239 just to have a warranty?? That place can probably reprogram, but I bet you they are gonna charge you another 50-100 bucks to do it. Besides, how many of these cars actually blow out ECU's? Also if your smart, you'd get a junkyard ECU that is has a 90 day warranty anyway...which often, if there is a problem with it's before that warranty expires. Plus, how many people would buy a rom editor, they often are not cheap, and most people wouldn't know how to use one.....also, do you have an idea how to tune and ECU?

First off, I didn't know anything about cars(I still dont)!
Second it was 7 blocks.
Sorry for not sticking to the topic, but we all cant be perfect like sarin.
Junkyard ECU's out here suck. I don't what there like by your house. I went through three before we found one that worked right.
As for the rom editing stuff, Im not the greatest when it comes to computers but I was sort of into computers back when DOS ruled the world. Lost interest when I found out how much math was involved. I can do it, its just been awhile(by do it I mean I have never tried but I assume that everything will work out )
Fuel maps are all we really want is that too much to ask?

Damn right! This world would not turn if I wasn't so damn perfect! (An Ego smiley would come in perfect right about now!!!!1)

That sucks about your junkyard ECU's. There is a yard up by my place that specializes in nothing but Nissan's, and I yet to have a problem with the stuff I get from them. They also warranty thier stuff too. But your right, it also depends on the yard.

I'm a bit of a DOS nut myself...but haven't been using it as much, other than some networking stuff (ipconfig, nbtstat, tracert, etc)

Also you gotta keep in mind, when you play with fuel maps, you also have to play with timing maps....they work hand in hand, and if you tweak one, you might totally screw up the other.

Oh cool sending the Haynes with my mom....I'll give it back to her when she goes back up to take care of ya!
