when my car is cold and has been running for about 30 mins the tranny is fine, but after ive been driving it for a while it starts to have some problems with going into drive sometimes i have to put it all the way down in to 1st to get it to go. sometimes i have to kinda hit the shifter when i put it in drive to get it to kick in.. then after i get going it doesnt want to stay in overdrive. if im doing 60 and i let off the gas it come out of overdrive and into 4th gear and its annoying cause its constantly going in and out of overdrive unless i have the throttle in the perfect position. and if i floor it going 55 it will downshift into 2nd fine, but wont shift in WOT it will just keep going way past redline until i let off again then hit it again.

whats going on? tranny fluid? vacuum? throttle sensor? tranny sensor?

Should definately check the level. Also it could be possible that you have a bad shifter bushing, so the selector isn't going completely into one single gear...hence the shifting down to 1st or hitting the shifter.
