Seafoam lots of smoke under front..
Hey, I'm new to the forum and this past weekend I did the seafoam in the brake booster line thing. I got major smoke from what i'm guessing is the front exhaust manifold. This means a leak right? but it doesn't sound like i have an exhaust leak at all(meaning no vrmm vrmmwhen I accelerate). Any ideas ? thanks ahead of time, The car has 158000 and runs like a top (after a brake job this weekend) Out of curiosity what type of engine oil/filter antifreeze are you guys running. I searched the threads but couldn't find anything. ohh and where do you guys get the shifter bushing from dealer?
Welcome to the forum.
I actually think that's supposed to happen, because on the can it says something about fumes being extreme for a short time. I tried this on both my vehicles (1994 Sentra and 1986 S-10 Blazer) and it happened with both of those, for about 5-10 minutes, then it cleared up. I guess it depends on how much you dump in there, cos essentially all that seafoam goes to where there's supposed to be air, the intake manifold and everything, and it's trying to burn that. I'd start it up, let it idle, race the engine a few times, and see what happens after 10 minutes or so.
Good luck.

welcome to the board
....mine did the same thing when I sea foamed it...but I dont think I have an exhaust leak.
Castrol GTX 10-30, Fram sure grip, and Prestone 50/50.
--on my fourth gen I use the napa gold oil filter....which you guys using wix may want to look into because you may save a few bux, because napa filters are made by wix

By shifter bushing i mean the oem, I have to nudge it into each gear. Meaning if you would put in in D I have to pull back a little bit before it engages. Another quick question was there a recall for the fuel rail or injectors? just curious if so is there a website I can check if my car was done or not? thanks
Sounds like the shifter bushing to me. They tend to go out on the 2nd gen autos quite a bit, along with the engine/tranny mounts (both of which is true for me).
To my understanding there was a recall on the fuel injectors although it's not coming to me. I'll be looking into finding out what it is shortly, as my mpg has been awful since I bought the car in June and I suspect that the injectors are dirty and need to be professionally cleaned.
