Help with air filters
What's going on y'all? it's been a while since I've posted last and I'm doing some routine maintanence on my 86 Maxima. I have a quick question....there's a piece of rubber hosing that connects the air filter box to the right fender. It kinda looks like a vacuum cleaner attachment. Does anyone know what it's offically called and can I get it at me local auto store (autozone, kragen, etc)? Mine is cracked from wear and tear and I'm trying to replace it. I feel like an *** for describing it that way but that's the best I can come up with. Hopefully y'all can enlighten me.
Good looks!!

I dont know exactly what it is called but I am guessing its a dealer only part...I would just call it 'the plastic part of the air cleaner assembly that leads into the fender well'....I know if you go to the dealer when they are pulling up the parts they have an exploded view of everything so you can probably just point to what you need rather than describe it.
-I have replaced my stock air box so I may have what you need as well if you can take a pic of what you need so I can make sure.
-also unless you really want to fix it I dont think it is doing any harm (if its the part I am thinking of). its just making you air filter get a little dirtier...since it is before the MAF and air filter IMO it would just be a cosmetic fix anyway

how thick is that? you should be able to go to auto zone or even (yuck) pep girls and pick up a replacement "preheater hose" that may work for you. this looks like the flexible vent tube going from your clothes dryer to the outside. only thinner in diameter. these were for the old carburated/TBI vehilces with the round air cleaner housing on the top of the engine. this hose ran from the exhaust manifold to the air intake to recycle the warm air to help stabilize the idle and warm up quicker. you may be able to retrofit one to your max. it's basically thin, flexible hose.
just a suggestion.
