Stripped Spark Plug

I have a 85 maxima and the spark plug blew out of the port. I tried to replace it but it wont screw back in. I have a kit to repair it but I don't wanna go through the trouble of pulling the head off. Has anyone else ever had to deal with this and if so what can I do? thanks

Well, all I can say is you gotta retap that hole. My suggestion is that if you don't want to do it, to find a reasonably priced shop to do it.

I had that happen once with an old VW Bug I once had. I purchased a Helicoil Kit for it, that came with a tap and a thread insert. It did the trick to get it going again and the only problem I seemed to have with it was whenever I changed the plugs, the insert always came out with the plug.

Maybe some anti-seize on the plug threads might solve that? I'm betting that is most likely because the heat it goes through.
