well today i was changing the oil and i noticed that the air regulator wasent hooked up (the connector is ****ty) then i was done with oil and about to back down from ramps but the car was idleing at 4,000 sounding like it was about to blow up (i dont get it because it was running ok with the airrgulator unplugged) so then i rembered when i was changing oil filters that there was a wire in the way and it might of got messed up (its a pain to get oil filter out, till today i found a fairly easy way) but the thing is some kinda sensor with a wire that plugs up onm the firewall, i looked at the air regulator rebuild.

i dont know what to do now i dont even knwo what that sensor thing was

im sorry for this jumbled up mess

Hey
What temp is your car at when it Idles like this?
Have you advanced your timing at all?
Is your air regulator hooked up when it idles at 4000, what does it Idle at when you disconnect it?

I had this same problem after changing oil. It was because I cange my oil filter from the passenger side of the car, I leaned on the throttle cable going into that black plastic thing on the fire wall, the cable got hung up on that thing, just push the cable back toward the fire wall....I am willing to bet this will fix your problem, good luck

Agredd, the air regulator shouldn't cause you idle higher that maybe 1500RPM...it's not going to make the car idle faster than it normally would...
